- Galina Kurlat was born in Moscow in 1981 and emigrated to the United States along with her family shortly after the fall of communism in 1989. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute in 2005 and currently resides in Houston, TX. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is in private collections. Recent awards include: Positive Focus: Body of Work ’06 Brooklyn NY, Photo Media Center: Open Juried Exhibition Award Erie PA, Honorable Mention in the Prix De La Photographie Paris France and The Art of Photography Show 2008 San Diego CA.
